Students are also able to take Advanced Placement (AP) or College Credit Plus classes with the goal to leave Northmont High School career or college ready.

The building has been constructed to be a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Building (LEED) with an anticipated silver certification. The district will benefit from the lowered energy cost, better indoor air quality, and more natural lighting.

Safety of students is a major component with all exterior doors being locked during the day. There are 187 cameras located inside and outside of the building. Visitors to the building must be buzzed in through the main office and must sign in at that time.

Fun Facts:

The High School has approximately one mile of corridors and hallways and ‘Thunderbolt Way’ is nearly the length of two football fields. The walking track surrounding the Thunderdome basketball facility is 1/9 of a mile in length and the Thunderdome will provide seating for three times the number of spectators compared to the gym in the old building.

There are 3586 rammed aggregate piers under the building to overcome the unsuitable soils and to support the foundation. The building is tech ready with 102.275 miles of computer wires.
