CLAYTON — Northmont will dedicate its new ‘Athletics Wing’ this Friday at the new high school gymnasium, dubbed the ‘Thunderdome.’

The girls basketball team will play West Carrollton at 6 p.m. with the dedication ceremony set for 7:30 p.m. The boys will follow with a game at 8 p.m., also against West Carrollton.

The new basketball facility is spacious with a seating capacity of approximately 2,300 more than triple the old gymnasium’s capacity. The facility features a huge concession area with a big screen TV so patrons can see the game while purchasing snacks.

An overhead scoreboard suspended from the center of the gymnasium with four sides is easy to see from both sides and either end of the floor.

The northmontathletics.com website has instructions on how to enter the new facility, which is accessible from either Crestway Drive or National Road. Game ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens.
