TROY — The Northmont boys track team scored 76 points to place 2nd Saturday at the Troy Up and Running Invitational.
Donavin Wallace placed 6th in the 100 meter dash in 11.70 seconds.
Ethan Shade placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:39.29. Shade also placed 2nd in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.13 while Charles Quansah placed 7th in 2:13.62.
Xavier Marable placed 2nd in the 400 meter dash in 51.70 seconds and Kameron Gover placed 6th in 54.03 seconds.
Danny Lewis placed 8th in the 300 meter hurdles in 46.71 seconds.
Kameron Gover won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.79 seconds while Xavier Marable placed 5th in 23.56.
Gage Beireis placed 2nd in the 3200 meter run in 10:12.25 and Drew Haker placed 8th at 11:09.72.
Vinson Walker placed 7th in the high jump clearing the bar at 5-feet, 6-inches and Christian Wilson placed 8th also at 5-feet, 6-inches.
Donavin Wallace placed 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 2-inches. Rodney Richardson placed 4th at 19-feet, 5-inches and Amari Spears placed 5th at 19-feet, 1.75-inches.
Quelin Holt just missed placing in the discus throw finishing 9th at 111-feet.
“It was a great day. First of all, the weather was awesome for the first time all year and the boys did a fantastic job,” said Northmont Boys Coach Tony Broering. “We used the meet basically as a practice meet to get ready for the Jack Lintz Invitational this Saturday, so we weren’t even going all-out. WE only had Kameron Gover in a couple of events and Drake Hickman wasn’t even there. We held a lot of kids back, but we still got second place so it was a great day for us. They boys are really working hard and doing a great job.”
The girls track team placed fourth overall with 47 points.
Jayla Tarver placed 4th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.28 seconds and Katie McCrary placed 8th in 13.64.
Aubrey Kosak placed 5th in the 1600 meter run in 5:55.98 and Jordan Rife placed 6th in 5:58.04.
Ashley Hoke placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash in 1:03.62.
Melissa Barrett won the 800 meter run in 2:22.67.
Ashley Hoke placed 6th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.65 seconds and Jayla Tarver placed 7th in 27.80.
Camryn Nadir placed 5th in the high jump clearing the bar at 4-feet, 9-inches.
Ashley Hoke placed 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 15-feet, 1-inch and Camryn Nadir placed 6th at 14-feet, 1.75-inches.
Northmont will host the Jack Lintz Invitational on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
