Police reports from Northmont area law enforcement agencies

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Jan. 11

City of Union

Report 16-002118: The theft of several tools and equipment from a work vehicle was reported on Irongate Drive. There was no signed of forced entry to the vehicle. The reporting party suspected a former co-worker might still have a key to the vehicle and was responsible for the theft as he had recently been released from jail. Total loss was set at $1,990.

Clay Township

Report 16-82-01: An officer was flagged down by a motorist who asked for directions. After checking the passenger’s identification the officer discovered the passenger was a wanted subject. Richard A. Godsey, 41, of Troy, was arrested on felony probation violation warrant issued by Miami County Common Pleas Court. Godsey was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday, Jan. 12

City of Union

Report 16-002373: Unknown subjects tore a 30 day temporary license tag off the rear of a vehicle parked in the Proctor and Gamble lot.

Thursday, Jan. 14

Clay Township

Report 16-106-01: Police stopped a vehicle for failing to signal while making a left turn from State Route 49 onto Sweet Potato Ridge Road. The driver, Michael W. Stutz, 25, of Arcanum, was charged with driving under suspension, open container, and failure to signal. The officer seized the license plates at the request of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Stutz was issued a court summons and released to a relative.

Friday, Jan. 15

Clay Township

Report 16-125-01: Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and discovered a passenger was a wanted subject. Mario D. Valencia, 38, of Brookville, was arrested on a warrant for sexual assault with a nationwide pick up. While taking Valencia into custody he claimed to be having a panic attack. A Brookville medic transported Valencia to the Good Samaritan North Emergency Room where he was treated and released. Police then transported Valencia to the county jail.

Saturday, Jan. 16

City of Clayton

Report 16-116: Four Clayton officers responded to the 7700 block of Harrington Avenue on the report of shots fired inside a home. An argument broke out about a vehicle that was stolen out of Fairborn and driven to the Harrington Avenue address. While on the scene police discovered one of the people at the house was a wanted subject. Kali A. Stinson, 18, of Tipp City, was arrested on a warrant out of Fairborn for obstructing official business and failure to appear. James R. Marriott, 32, of Dayton 45403, was charged with felonious assault and aggravated burglary. Stinson and Marriott were transported to the county jail.

Report 16-119: Unknown subjects damaged the driver’s side door lock on a vehicle parked in the 6500 block of Rangeview Drive.

City of Union

Report 16-003126: A resident in the 500 block of W. Martindale Road said he heard a vehicle pull up in front of his house and when he looked outside observed a dark colored, older model Chevy truck backing out of his driveway. He then received a phone call from a restricted number and male voice stated, “Look at the tire tracks I left in the street and look in your yard, I left some there too.” He then received another call with a male stating they were coming back over.

Clay Township

Report 16-134-01: Police stopped a vehicle for a marked lanes violation and found the driver to be intoxicated. Juan A. Castillo, 24, of Brookville, was charged with possession of drugs schedule I or II substance, driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .17 grams and marked lanes of travel. Castillo registered at .187 percent on a breath intoxilyzer test. He was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Sunday, Jan. 17

City of Union

Report 16-003264: An officer patrolling the Proctor & Gamble parking lot at the request of the company observed a vehicle driving through the lot with a suspended driver. Lashawnda C. Lane, 29, of Trotwood, was charged with driving under OVI suspension and non-compliance suspension. Her license plates were seized and her vehicle towed by Englewood Truck. She was issued a court summons.

Report 16-003276: Reginald A. Johnson, 30, of Dayton 45406, was charged with menacing at Proctor and Gamble. He was issued a court summons.

Monday, Jan. 18

City of Englewood

Report 16-003315: Tosja Christina Morgan, 19, of Dayton 45405, was charged with domestic violence. She was transported to the county jail.

City of Union

Report 16-003463: Justin A. McQuate, 21, of Union, was charged with domestic violence and transported to the county jail.

Tuesday, Jan. 19

City of Englewood

Report 16-003648: Titus L. Moore, 28, of Springfield, was arrested in Clark County on a warrant issued by Englewood Police for failure to appear on a traffic violation. Moore was taken into custody, released to an Englewood officer and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Wednesday, Jan. 20

City of Englewood

Report 16-003789: Failure to pay for food service was reported at Bob Evans. According to employees, the pair fled on foot southbound on S. Main Street towards I-70. The subjects were described as a white male in his mid-20s, wearing a tan colored Carhaart jacket, and a white female wearing a brown coat, and a blue colored Velcro fastened headband.

Report 16-003805: Valerie M. Combs, 40, of Dayton 45410, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart, taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Thursday, Jan. 21

City of Clayton

Report 16-149: An unknown white male entered the United Dairy Farmers store and placed three Little Debbie snack cakes in his sweat pants and left the store without attempting to pay.

Clay Township

Report 16-168-01: Police stopped a vehicle for a marked lanes violation and found the driver to be intoxicated. Nicholas A. Simpson, 20, of West Milton, was charged with display of fictitious / altered / suspended license, driving under the influence and marked lanes of travel. Simpson was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Saturday, Jan. 23

City of Englewood

Report 16-004421: An unknown white female placed several pieces of infant clothing in her purse and exited the store without paying. When reaching the parking lot, the female began running and got into a Dodge van. The van was last seen northbound on S. Main Street near Interstate 70. The vehicle was later found to have gotten on westbound Interstate 70, exited at Hoke Road, and traveled southbound on Hoke Road. The registration returned to a dark green 1994 Buick 4-door.

Sunday, Jan. 24

City of Englewood

Report 16-004635: A 15-year-old male was charged with being unruly on Englewood Drive. He was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

Report 16-004650: Alexander J. O’Melia-Neal, 18, of Englewood, was charged with assault and criminal damaging. He was issued a court summons.

City of Union

Report 16-004521: Police responded to Old Springfield Road near the Stillwater River on the report of a crash. Upon arrival an officer found a vehicle had crashed into the trees just before reaching the river while traveling east. The driver stated that he could not move his legs and a medic responded to transport him to the hospital for treatment. Aaron L. Rue, 39, of Clayton (45322 Zip Code), was charged with driving while under the influence and failure to control. He was issued a court summons.
