DAYTON — In an effort to improve accessibility to its collection, America’s Packard Museum at 420 S. Ludlow St., Dayton has introduced a new admissions policy allowing any youth under the age of 18 or with a valid Student ID general museum admission at no cost.
The new policy goes into effect immediately. Youth and student group tour rates remain unchanged under the new policy. In addition to this change, weekend hours are expanding to mirror weekday hours of noon to 5pm.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Managing Director Daniel Badger said of the policy, “The Board recognizes the need for making this policy change not only as a way to give back to the community and thank it for its support, but also to sustain the mission of this remarkable museum. The legacy of America’s Packard Museum depends on what it can offer to current and future generations. Helping youth and students of all ages learn about history, innovation, technology, preservation, and restoration helps educate and invigorate the region with a sense of excitement about the past and future roles of technology and innovation throughout the Dayton area.”
Operating as a full-time museum since 1992, America’s Packard Museum is the only restored Packard dealership operating as a museum. Featuring over 50 restored automobiles and significant artifacts from the Packard Motorcar Company on display, the museum has become a popular destination for international, stateside, and local travelers and residents alike.
