COLUMBUS — The Northmont DECA Chapter competed at the Ohio DECA Fall Leadership Conference in Columbus on Wednesday, November 18.

The chapter had four students compete in the event. Senior, Naomi Baker, was elected from students around the state of Ohio as the Executive Vice President of Marketing. Naomi, will serve as the state officer for the year for Ohio DECA. During her term she will plan and run Ohio DECA’s state conferences and promote Ohio DECA.

Ryan Pullins, a sophomore, finished 2nd in the Public Relations Event. Grace Counts and Emily Howard always made the finals in the Public Relations Event. Senior, Toni Burton, created a top ten pin design for Ohio DECA as well.

“This is truly a great showing by our chapter,” said Eric Wagner, Northmont DECA advisor. “It is truly an accomplishment to have Naomi win this election. It says a lot about her work ethic and drive to succeed. Also, to have three sophomores make the finals in Public Relations truly shows the future is bright for our chapter in this event. They really set the bar high for the next couple of years. I am very excited about this year now and hope that this really gives all the students the drive to continue the success.”
