DAYTON — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Combined Agency OVI Task Force conducted two Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated (OVI) sobriety checkpoints on November 25 in Harrison Township.
The first checkpoint was held in the 3300 block of North Dixie Drive from 7 until 9 p.m. The second checkpoint was held in the 2500 block of Needmore Road from 10 p.m. until midnight.
The first OVI sobriety checkpoint resulted in no OVI arrests, one child restraint citation, and two driving under suspension citations. Over 241 vehicles were checked as they passed through the checkpoint. The second OVI sobriety checkpoint resulted in no OVI arrests, one child restraint citation, four driving under suspension citations, one non-moving citation, and one misdemeanor drug abuse warrant. Over 235 vehicles were checked as they passed through the checkpoint.
The accompanying saturation patrols resulted in one OVI arrest, one driving under suspension citation, one speed citation, two moving citations, two seat belt citations, one citation for providing false information, one misdemeanor warrant and one felony warrant.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol and member agencies of the Montgomery County Combined Agency OVI Task Force will continue to have OVI saturation patrols on county roadways throughout the remainder of the holiday weekend looking for signs of impaired drivers.
