Northmont area police reports

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sunday, July 9

Clay Township

Report 17-16217-07: A Clay Township officer assisted a Perry Township officer at the scene of a traffic crash and shooting that occurred at the intersection of Wolf Creek Pike and Diamond Mill Road. Several other police units had arrived and were assisting on securing a suspect while medics attempted to extricate an individual trapped inside a vehicle. A second vehicle had struck a tree and caught fire several feet from a residential structure. The car caught the tree on fire which was burning 50 feet above the ground. The flames were within five feet of the home. A man tried to enter the residence to warn his family and the officer warned him not to enter. A struggle ensued and the man had to be taken to the ground by two officers. His relatives emerged from the house and attempted to obstruct his arrest. He was placed in handcuffs but later released when his family explained that he suffered from Alzheimer’s and probably didn’t understand the officer’s instructions.

Saturday, July 15

City of Union

Report 17-041413: Police responded to the 100 block of Heckman Drive on the report of a disorderly subject trying to break windows. A resident stated her boyfriend was intoxicated and became angry at her. A male subject opened the front door and ran out of the house in an aggressive manner and then ran back inside and locked the front and back door. The female allowed police to enter the house through a garage door. The male opened a window and began running from the home. He was apprehended nearby and it was apparent he was highly intoxicated. Nicholas T. Newman, 28, of Laura, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and obstructing official business. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Clay Township

Report 17-17081-07: A 2003 Chevy Venture minivan was reported stolen at Sunoco. The victim stated he went inside the store and a subject he had been giving a ride to proceeded to drive off with his vehicle. On July 18 Dayton Police discovered the vehicle abandoned in the 5600 block of Rip Rap Road. The owner responded to the scene and took possession of the vehicle.

Monday, July 17

City of Englewood

Report 17-041876: Dominick I. Marshall, 22, of Englewood, was charged with public indecency, issued a court summons and released.

Report 17-041908: Anthony W. Sensabaugh, 43, of Franklin, was charged with theft without consent at Meijer and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 17-041935: Raven Z. Hudson, 20, of Trotwood and Amoni C. Jackson, 20, of Dayton 45405, were each charged with theft without consent at Walmart while Hudson was also charged with obstructing official business. Hudson was transported to the Montgomery County Jail. Jackson was issued a court summons and released.

Report 17-041981: Police responded to the Kleptz YMCA on a threats complaint. An employee was trying to verify a male subject’s identity because he had fraudulently used another person’s membership to enter the facility. The male threatened to shoot the employee if he touched him. William A. Green, 21, of Dayton 45402, was charged with disorderly conduct / fighting. He was trespassed from the property and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday, July 18

City of Clayton

Report 17-1397: An officer parked near the intersection of Springway Drive and N. Main Street observed a south bound vehicle without a front license plate. As the officer began to follow the vehicle it made a sudden right hand turn onto Westbrook Road and then make a rapid turn into a driveway in the first block. The officer pulled into the driveway with his overhead lights illuminated. The driver of the vehicle began to back up in an attempt to pull into a perpendicular parking spot. The driver also reached down toward the floor by the driver’s seat and had to be ordered numerous times to keep his hands on the steering wheel. As the officer approached the vehicle the residents of the home came outside and stated they did not know who the driver was. The driver was ordered to get out of his vehicle and handcuffed. The officer discovered he had an active felony warrant and was under a 12-point suspension. The officer searched the area of the floorboard where the driver had been reaching down and discovered several knotted clear plastic bags. Mark A. Kimbrough, 26, of Harrison Township, was arrested on the felony warrant and was charged with driving under 12-point suspension and display of plates. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Union

Report 17-042017: Burglary was investigated in the 100 block of Hawker St. An unknown subject entered an apartment and removed cash from a drawer. A possible suspect was identified and questioned. The case remains under investigation.

Report 17-042098: The theft of a college refund financial aid check totaling more than $1,500 was reported by a city resident.

Clay Township

Report 17-17565-07: A resident came to the police department to report a lost or stolen handgun. The victim was enlisted in the military and was being transferred from Korea to Wright Patterson Air force Base. He said he was not sure the gun was stolen while in storage or lost during his move.

Reported 17-592-07: Police responded to the 12400 block of Upper Lewisburg Salem Road on a fight between two male subjects and the theft of a cell phone. The victim stated he was trying to confirm the address of his ex-wife to assist in filing for custody of a son they have in common. He stated as he drove by the residence his ex-wife’s boyfriend threw something at his car and when he brought his car to a stop the boyfriend opened his door and began to assault him with his fist. He said he retaliated and struck the man several times until he conceded and walked away. The boyfriend of the ex-wife admitted to throwing a reflective vest at the victim’s car and to confronting him at his car, but only after the victim had given him the finger as he drove by and taunted him to fight him while he was still in his car. Two witnesses reinforced the victim’s version of events. The victim further stated that shortly after the fight ended his ex-wife picked up one of his flip flops and his cell phone from the roadway and walked towards the residence. She threw the flip flop in the yard but continued inside with his phone. The ex-wife and her boyfriend denied taking the cell phone. Christopher T. Blosser, 51, of Brookville, was charged with assault and Lori J. Spencer, 44, was charged with theft. Both were issued a court summons. The victim was warned for his participation in the incident. He was also advised that Ms. Spencer claimed he was menacing her by stalking, and although she had not filed any reports to support this, it would be reported that he was driving by her residence and allegedly giving the middle finger to her boyfriend.

Wednesday, July 19

City of Clayton

Report 17-1398: An unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 6400 block of Cheri Lynne Drive and removed a laptop computer and case and several binders containing personal information and three convenience checks.

Report 17-1402: An unknown white male, approximately 30 years of age with what appeared to be multiple tattoos on both arms, entered an unlocked vehicle in the 6700 block of Galaxie Drive and stole a wallet containing cash. The victim’s home was equipped with security cameras and the crime was recorded by one of the cameras at 2:20 a.m.

City of Englewood

Report 17-042320: Police responded to Kroger on the report of a theft. A male subject wearing a white T-shirt and shorts fled on foot to a nearby apartment complex and escaped capture.

Report 17-042384: John F. Graham, 37, of Kettering was arrested on a warrant issued by New Lebanon for failure to appear for a tax violation. Graham was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Union

Report 17-042392: The theft of a boy’s bike from a shed was reported in the 100 block Woburn Farm Circle.

Thursday, July 20

City of Englewood

Report 17-042480: Police stopped a vehicle on Hoke Road because the listed owner was a wanted subject. William R. Shepherd, 53, of Dayton 45417, was arrested on a warrant through Montgomery County. A back seat passenger, John L. Birt, 36, of Dayton 45417, was arrested on a warrant out of Dayton. The front seat passenger, Breana E. Blackford, 26, of Dayton 45417, was charged with obstructing official business. All three were transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 17-042545: The theft of a woman’s wallet from a shopping cart was reported at Meijer.

City of Union

Report 17-042463: A purse containing $40 cash and numerous credit cards was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of W. Boitnott Dr.

Report 17-042526: An unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Charles Place and removed a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Friday, July 21

City of Englewood

Report 17-042587: The theft of a girl’s Schwinn bicycle was reported at Englewood Village apartments. The bike was not secured when it was taken.

Report 17-042733: Jeffrey A. Hall, 25, of Springfield, and Meranda S. Miller, 24, also of Springfield, were both charged with theft without consent at Meijer and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 17-042748: Jerry L. Johnson, 66, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft without consent at Meijer. He was issued a court summons and released.

Friday, July 21

City of Union

Report 17-042739: Charles K. Fallen, 32, of Union, was arrested on a warrant out of Fairborn and was also charged with possession of drugs. He was transported to Fairborn and released to a Fairborn officer.

Report 17-042811: Stephen L. Johnson, 64, of Dayton 45415, was charged with driving while under the influence and marked lanes of travel. He was issued a court summons and released to a friend.

Saturday, July 22

City of Union

Report 17-042850: Michael A. David, 21, of Pleasant Hill, was charged with driving while under the influence while on a bicycle and possession of marijuana. He was issued a court summons and released to a friend.

Tuesday, July 25

City of Union

Report 17-043478: Robert G. Deeter, 57, of Union, was arrested on an active Union warrant for disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
