Police reports from Northmont area law enforcement agencies

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday, Aug. 25

Clay Township

Report 16-2371-08: Ronnie L. Jones, 25, of Greenville, was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments (syringe), driving under suspension and failure to provide proof of insurance. A passenger in the vehicle, Tiffany A. Garner, 23, of Greenville, was also charged with possessing drug abuse instruments (syringe). Jones and Garner were both issued a court summons and released. Their vehicle was impounded.

Friday, Aug. 26

Clay Township

Report 16-2375-08: Norman C. Forsee, 44, of West Milton, was arrested on an active warrant during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Monday, Aug. 29

City of Clayton

Report 16-2041: Police responded to Cinnamon Tree Court on the report of a suspicious vehicle parked with the engine running. Upon arrival an officer located a white male subject in the back seat whose skin was turning slightly blue with his head slumped over. The officer also observed an uncapped hypodermic syringe in his lap and in the male’s left hand was an empty gel capsule commonly used to package heroin. An additional syringe was found in the male’s left pocket. Clayton Medics responded and administered three units of Narcan to counteract the heroin. After several minutes the male’s skin color returned to normal and he regained consciousness. Lance P. Carter, 28, of Richmond, IN was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and possession of drugs. He was transported to Good Samaritan North Hospital for evaluation. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court. His vehicle was impounded.

City of Union

Report 16-048522: Identity theft was reported by a resident of Greencliff Dr. The victim stated that she received a phone call from Citibank to confirm some purchases made on her credit card. She advised police that she did not own a Citibank credit card. Citibank immediately closed the account. On August 28 she noticed that her home phone would ring one time as if the calls were being forwarded. She contacted Time Warner and was informed that someone had contacted them and asked that the calls to her home be forwarded to a phone number in Florida.

Report 16-048588: Police responded to the 400 block of Applegate in reference to the resident finding an open package that did not belong to her on the front porch. There was nothing inside the package but a shipping label was located with an address for Warner Drive. Police went to the intended recipient’s address and learned that she was a teacher and the package contained intended for her classroom.

Clay Township

Report 16-2418-08: While responding to a report of debris in a roadway an officer spotted a female walking north in the southbound lanes on the State Route 49 bridge over Interstate 70. The officer discovered she was a wanted subject. Patricia K. Goodman, 53, of Ashland, KY, was arrested on a warrant out of Clinton County for disorderly conduct. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-2413-08: Police located a suspicious vehicle parked at a closed business. The driver was discovered to be a wanted subject. Scott E. Houdeshell, 54, of Greenville, was arrested on a warrant issued by Miamisburg Municipal Court. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

City of Clayton

Report 16-2057: An officer pulled a vehicle over on Union Road for traveling 67 miles per hour in a posted 50 MPH zone. The driver was found to be driving under suspension and had not had a valid license since 1998. While speaking with the driver the officer observed track marks on his arm consistent with intravenous drug use. During a vehicle search officers located a duffle bag with a digital scale in the side pocket and inside the bag were several hypodermic syringes, two spoons, four tie-offs and empty gel capsules with trace amounts of suspected heroin. Officers also found a can of engine degreaser with a hidden compartment containing numerous syringes. A total of 74 syringes, 42 empty gel capsules, four tie-offs, a digital scale, the degreaser can and duffle bag were collected as evidence. Phillip M. Lane, 39, of Brookville, was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments, driving under suspension, speeding and no operator’s license. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-2059: While on patrol on Salem Pike an officer spotted a vehicle with expired registration being driven by a wanted subject. Ronda D. Murphy, 50, of Dayton 45405, was arrested on a warrant issued by Dayton Municipal Court, was arrested on a second warrant issued by Western Division Court and was charged with expired registration and no operator’s license. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-048857: Police responded to Englewood Do It Best Hardware on the report of a possible underage intoxicated female. Police found the female along National Road near PNC Bank with another juvenile female and two 19-year-old males. She admitted to consuming alcohol and was detained. The other three subjects were released from the scene. The 16-year-old female was transported to her home in Union and released to her mother. Charges were forwarded to juvenile court.

City of Union

Report 16-048842: Police responded to the 400 block of Applegate on the report of a theft of a package. The post office advised the package was delivered on August 29 and contained catalogs. The company that issued the catalogs contacted the victim and stated that a new shipment would be sent as a one-time courtesy at no charge.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

City of Clayton

Report 16-2061: Police responded to United Dairy Farmers for a welfare check on a female who was driving erratically and was now parked at UDF. Upon arrival an officer found the vehicle parked diagonally across two parking spaces with the engine running. While speaking with the driver an odor of alcohol was detected. Melissa D. Hutsonpillar, 42, of Clayton, was charged with having physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Her vehicle was impounded and she was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-2067: Police responded to the 100 block of Prospect Avenue on the report of a stolen vehicle in progress. Dispatch advised that a red 2014 Dodge Caravan had just been stolen from the residence and fled in an unknown direction. The vehicle owner stated he had backed his vehicle up to the house because his wife has difficulty walking all the way from the house to the driveway. He left the vehicle running and went inside to help her walk to the vehicle and when he came back outside the vehicle was gone.

City of Englewood

Report 16-049005: Sarah E. Stamps, 28, of Clayton, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. She was issued a court summons and released.

Report 16-049055: Unknown subjects placed several long scratch marks on the driver’s side rear door of a vehicle parked in the 7100 block of Cranlyn Dr. A vehicle parked across the street was struck on the left side by a vehicle possibly fleeing the scene.

City of Union

Report 16-049026: Robert C. Highfield, 20, of Williamsburg, KY was charged with solicitation permit required. He was issued a court summons.

Thursday, Sept. 1

City of Clayton

Report 16-2070: Police responded to Cotillion Court on the report of a subject playing loud music in a vehicle in the parking lot. After approaching the vehicle and obtaining the subject’s information police discovered he was a wanted subject. Sherod A. Smith, 35, of Dayton 45402, was arrested on a warrant issued by Western Division Court. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-2076: Police responded to the 8000 block of Allison Avenue on the report of shots being fired. Upon arrival an officer observed a male subject stumbling in the middle of the roadway. After approaching the subject the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol. His speech was slurry and he was unsteady on his feet. When asked how much he had to drink the male stated, “Too much. That’s why I’m walking home.” The officer asked the male where he lived and he pointed to a house at the corner of Allison and Hacker Road about 200 yards away. The male was released to continue home. Once the male reached the house he stopped and stood in the side yard for a couple of minutes. The officer approached and asked what was wrong. The male stated he was confused because this was not his house. The officer told the male to come to his police cruiser so he could give him a ride home. The male began to walk away and the officer ordered him to come back. He continued to walk away and the officer told him he was under arrest and grabbed him by the left arm. The male turned and attempted to punch the officer with his right fist. A second officer arrived and grabbed the male’s right arm as he continued to try to pull away from the officers. He was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. At the jail the subject threatened to kill Officer Cecil and assaulted him. Brandon A. Olah, 31, of Clayton, was charged with assault, aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Friday, Sept. 2

City of Englewood

Report 16-048968: Unknown subjects broke the outer pane of a window at Roth & Company. An employee stated damage to a vehicle parked in the lot had also occurred a week earlier. IT is not known if the incidents are related.

Saturday, Sept. 3

City of Englewood

Report 16-049485: Samantha R. Tippie, 25, of Englewood, was charged with domestic violence. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-049558: Patricia D. Clark, 27, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Meijer and was arrested on a warrant issued by Beavercreek Police for theft. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
