The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday, Sept. 15

City of Union

Report 16-051783: Unknown subjects entered an unlocked vehicle at Proctor & Gamble and removed the face plate from a CD player.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

Clay Township

Report 16-2655-09: Burglary was reported in the 9800 block of Upper Lewisburg Salem Rd. Family members returning home noticed a silver Ford Focus leaving the parking lot of a neighboring church being driven by someone that is frequently in the company of a former family friend. The Focus took off in haste when the driver saw the family members arriving home. The rear gate to the yard was found open and a check of the house revealed that several firearms, an Apple iPad and a laptop computer had been stolen.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

City of Union

Report 16-054146: The theft of UPS packages from a front porch was reported in the 100 block of Union Ridge Dr. The resident saw the UPS truck pulling away but did not retrieve the packages immediately as she was busy doing something else. Later that day when she opened the door to get the packages they were gone.

Friday, Sept. 30

City of Union

Report 16-054463: Kristin N. Breidenbach, 33, of Union, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication after overdosing on heroin. She was transported to Good Samaritan North emergency room for treatment and issued a summons to appear in court.

Monday, Oct. 3

City of Union

Report 16-055008: A 13-year-old male was charged with being unruly and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

Thursday, Oct. 6

City of Union

Report 16-055893: The theft of mail containing a personal check to pay a bill was stolen from a mailbox on Ewing Court.

Monday, Oct. 10

City of Englewood

Report 16-059389: Police responded to Chipotle on the report of employee theft. LaVena M. Collins, 20, of Dayton 45416, was charged with theft without consent. She was issued a court summons and released.

Tuesday, Oct. 11

City of Union

Report 16-056613: Unknown subjects tore the front license plate cover off a vehicle parked in the lot at Proctor & Gamble.

Friday, Oct. 14

City of Union

Report 16-057500: Sky J. Ingram, 24, of Union, was arrested on a warrant issued by Butler Township Police. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-057574: The theft of a gaming system was reported in the 100 block of S. Main St. Daniel J. McManus, 24, of Troy, was charged with theft without consent. He was issued a court summons.

Report 16-057576: A group of juveniles threw rocks at a light pole in th3 100 block of Westrock Farm Drive and broke the plastic surrounding the light bulb. A resident stated when the light went out the teenagers took off running towards the park.

Saturday, Oct. 15

City of Union

Report 16-057680: The theft of mail containing personal checks was reported in the 500 block of Sheets St. The victim received a phone call from U.S. Bank asking if they had written a check totaling $4575 for landscaping. The victim said no and contacted her bank, PNC, and had the account closed. U.S. Bank captured video footage of the subject who tried to cash the check and open an account using funds from the check.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

Clay Township

Report 16-2893-10: Police responded to a residence on Phillipsburg-Union Road for fraud complaint. The victim stated that he had been scammed out of $7,000. He stated man called that claimed to be a Miamisburg Police officer that claimed his grandson was under arrest for possession of heroin and he needed to send money to hire an attorney to get his grandson out of jail. The person claiming to be a police officer had another person get on the phone who claimed to be his grandson and asked him to send money, otherwise he would locked up for 65 days. The man claiming to be the police officer instructed the victim to buy gift cards at Wal-Mart totaling $7,000 and to call him back with the card numbers. The Clay Township officer checked the victim’s cell phone to review the call log. The receipts from Wal-Mart were also collected as well as the instructions the fake police officer had given the victim.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

City of Union

Report 16-058501: The theft of a package containing a bake ware set, cooking rack and oven mitt was reported in the 100 block of Union Ridge Dr.

Friday, Oct. 21

City of Union

Report 16-058926: Police responded to the 100 block of S. Main Street on the report of a subject drinking beer in a parking lot. Daniel J. Biscan, 50, of West Milton, was charged with having an open container in a motor vehicle. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Sunday, Oct. 23

City of Union

Report 16-059281: Police responded to Hitching Post on a disorderly subject who punched through a window and lacerated his hand. A medic responded and transported the subject to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

Monday, Oct. 24

City of Englewood

Report 16-059403: A 16-year-old female was charged with theft at Meijer. Charges were forwarded to juvenile court.

Clay Township

Report 16-2950-10: Dietra S. Jordan, 23, of Trotwood, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday, Oct. 25

City of Clayton

Report 16-2517: While on patrol an officer observed a vehicle fail to signal when executing a turn. Tyler A. Britt, 20, of Trotwood, was arrested on a warrant issued by Montgomery County Western Division Court, and was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and failure to signal when turning. Police performed a DNA swab on Britt to be submitted to Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Britt was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-059576: Brandi L. Edinger, 28, of Miamisburg, was charged with theft and was arrested on warrants through the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated possession of drugs and failure to appear. Edinger was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-059612: Brad A. Culvahouse, 31, of Dayton 45402, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-059673: Levi M. Johnson, 23, of Englewood, was charged with domestic violence. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

City of Englewood

Report 16-059816: Brandon A. Horn, 34, of Medway, was charged with theft at Meijer and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-059848: Cynthia M. Smith, 33, of Union, was charged with violating a protection order. She was taken into custody at her residence and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-059856: Edward B. Duster, 52, of Englewood, was charged with domestic violence and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Union

Report 16-059781: A resident reported that an unknown subject used her identity to open a Verizon Wireless account in her name and the account had been turned over to a collection agency with a total of more than $4,000.

Thursday, Oct. 27

City of Clayton

Report 16-2524: While on patrol an officer spotted a vehicle with expired plates traveling west on Westbrook Road. The driver was also found to be under suspension. Darius E. Walker, 23, of Trotwood, was charged with driving under license forfeiture suspension, expired plates and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia. He was issued a court summons and released. A passenger in the vehicle, Courtney S. Jones, 29, of Clayton, was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments (syringes) and was arrested on two nationwide felony warrants. Jones was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-2525: While on patrol on State Route 48 an officer spotted a vehicle being driven by a wanted subject. Jonte E. Rutledge, 39, of Dayton 45405, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-2527: After being dispatched to an address on Hillgrove Avenue to check on the welfare of the residents, dispatch advised one of the residents was a wanted subject. Chad A. Baker, 28, of Clayton, was arrested on a warrant issued by Riverside Police and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-060014: A 12-year-old male was charged with assault after striking a boy in the back of the head who suffers from cognitive issues in the 600 block of W. Wenger Road. A witness told police the victim had been subjected to repeated bullying in the past. Charges were forwarded to juvenile court.

Friday, Oct. 28

City of Englewood

Report 16-060210: Willie Hagood, Jr., 73, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft at Meijer. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-060228: Kristopher B. Chestnut, 35, of Englewood, was charged with control of dogs. He was issued a court summons.

City of Union

Report 16-060092: A 16-year-old female was charged with being unruly and obstructing official business. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

Sunday, Oct. 30

City of Clayton

Report 16-2548: Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 48 for not having any functioning rear lights. During the stop the driver was found to be under several non-compliant suspensions. Harvey L. Sims, 42, of Dayton 45402, was charged with driving under financial responsibility act suspension and no operator’s license. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-060562: Joseph E. Haeseker, 23, of Phillipsburg, was charged with domestic violence. He was issued a court summons.

Report 16-060624: Police and fire were units were dispatched to a two vehicle crash with major damage in the 200 block of Porter Drive. The caller advised that a vehicle had struck a car parked along the curb. Upon arrival the officer recognized the driver that struck the parked car from prior encounters and calls for service. Medics arrived to check the driver for injuries due to the heavy damage to both vehicles. She signed a refusal for treatment form. While speaking with the driver the officer observed that he was having trouble maintaining balance and had a strong odor of alcohol about her along with lethargic speech and glassy eyes. After failing a series of field sobriety tests, Sarah E. Schaible, 32, of Englewood, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain reasonable control. She registered at .287 percent on a breath intoxilyzer test. Schaible was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

City of Clayton

Report 16-2557: An officer spotted a suspicious vehicle with two occupants in the rear parking lot at Shell True North. After identifying both subjects one was found to be a wanted subject. Olivia L. Prater, 32, of Muncie, IN, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Lorain County and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
