Police reports from Northmont area law enforcement agencies

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, April 25

City of Union

Report 16-024146: Identity fraud was reported by a resident who advised she had received two letters from Fingerhut about opening an account with the business. Fingerhut denied the application to open the account due to incomplete information. Another female not known by the resident had attempted to open the account.

Wednesday, April 27

City of Union

Report 16-024427: Police responded to the report of a vehicle in the river. A maroon 1999 Ford Econoline van had been driven down the embankment and into the Stillwater River. The van was reported as stolen out of Allen County. Englewood Truck pulled the van out of the river. The radio was still on and was playing country music. The vehicle was impounded upon the request of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday, April 28

City of Union

Report 16-024657: Matthew D. Dowler, 31, of Union, was arrested on a felony warrant for a probation violation. Dowler was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Friday, April 29

Clay Township

Report 16-1128-04: Nathan J. Ward, 20, of Lewisburg, was charged with carrying concealed weapons and possession of marijuana and Brandon L. McAdams, 25, of Brookville, was charged with possession of drugs schedule I or II substance. The charges came as the result of a traffic stop on a vehicle having a loud exhaust. Charges against Ward were forwarded to Western Division Court. Charges against McAdams were forwarded to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Saturday, April 30

Clay Township

Report 16-1130-04: Jessie J. Dehart, 22, of Lewisburg, was charged with driving under the influence, marked lanes, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and stop sign violation. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Sunday, May 1

City of Union

Report 16-025361: Chad W. Meeks, 30, at large, was charged with assault and menacing in the 100 block of Vanessa Ct. He was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-025281: Assault was reported in the 100 block of Parkgrove Drive. The parents of the two juveniles involved signed a refusal to prosecute form.

Clay Township

Report 16-1137-05: Ashton M. Shellabarger, 19, of Greenville, was charged with possession of alcohol underage. Charges were forwarded to Western Division Court.

Monday, May 2

City of Union

Report 16-025365: Police responded to Greencliff Drive on the report of multiple subjects refusing to leave the property. During the course of the investigation one person was found to be a wanted subject. Andrew S. Shartle, 28, of Camp Pendleton, CA, was arrested on a warrant issued by Fairborn Police for failure to appear in court. Shartle was taken into custody and released to a Fairborn officer.

Tuesday, May 3

City of Englewood

Report 16-025572: A 17-year-old female was charged with being unruly on Westview Place. Charges were forwarded to Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Report 16-025719: Roger D. Brickles, 45, of Phillipsburg, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to reinstate. He was issued a court summons and released to his daughter.

Wednesday, May 4

City of Clayton

Report 16-920:

Unknown subjects stole a central air conditioning unit from a residence in the 200 block of Old Salem Road. The unit was installed in June 2015 at a cost of $2,849.

Thursday, May 5

City of Clayton

Report 16-929: Nicholas P. Ferguson, 23, of Clayton 45415, was arrested on a warrant at Gardenwoods Apartments and was transported to the county jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-025934: Shari R. Foy, 51, of Clayton 45415, was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while intoxicated at Buffalo Wild Wings. She was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-025936: David F. Phipps, 35, at large, was arrested by Butler Twp. Police on a warrant issued by Englewood Police. Phipps was released to an Englewood officer and transported to the county jail. While being booked into jail a corrections officer discovered a plastic bag concealed in Phipps’ underwear containing a white substance. The substance was forwarded to the BCI crime lab for analysis.

Clay Township

Report 16-1185-05: Cody C. Paul, 29, of Greenville, was arrested on a felony warrant issued by Dark County and Amber D. Singleton, 32, of New Lebanon, was arrested on two warrants issued by Montgomery County for probation violation. Paul and Singleton were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. The arrests came as the result of a traffic stop of a vehicle due to the registered owner being listed as having an active warrant.

Friday, May 6

City of Clayton

Report 16-935: Stacey L. Riddle, 22, of Clayton 45415, was arrested at his residence on a warrant issued by Dayton Police. Riddle was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-026200: Raymond E. Rhodus, 19, of Cincinnati, was charged with having an open container, disorderly conduct while intoxicated and was arrested on a felony warrant issued by Montgomery County for theft. He was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-026205: Robert D. Bellamy, 25, of Phillipsburg, was charged with possession of drugs. He was issued a court summons and released.

Report 16-026249: The theft of a decorative wreath and metal sign from an apartment door was reported at the Chateau Apartments.

Report 16-026262: The theft of a purse that was left in a shopping cart was reported at Meijer. The victim said she received a call on her cell phone that distracted her and she left her purse in the cart and drove home. The purse had not been turned in to store personnel and could not be located in any cart near the general merchandise entrance where the victim had exited the store.

Saturday, May 7

City of Union

Report 16-026500: Aggravated menacing was reported on Danvers Farm Circle. The victim advised her ex-boyfriend came into her home and held a gun to her head and threatened to kill her. She requested that police issue him a criminal trespass warning.

Sunday, May 8

City of Englewood

Report 16-026593: Rebecca M. Mitchell, 49, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Kroger. She was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-026669: Charles C. Ihenacho, 55, of Trotwood, was charged with endangering children after leaving a 1-year-old and 2-year-old in a vehicle with the windows rolled up at Aldi. He was issued a court summons and released. Montgomery County Children Services was also notified about the incident.

Tuesday, May 10

City of Union

Report 16-026969: A truck with a tree company name on the side was observed driving slowly on Neal Drive with a passenger knocking on doors without a permit. The passenger was found to be a wanted subject. Jonathan J. Hammett, 38, of Springfield, was arrested on four warrants issued by Clark County for child support. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
