Police reports from Northmont area law enforcement agencies

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Saturday, April 9

Clay Township

Report 16-898-04: Joshua R. Wood, 30, of Springfield, was arrested on an active warrant and transported to the county jail.

Thursday, April 14

Clay Township

Report 16-954-04: Chad E. Ledbetter, 48, of Dayton 45417, was charged with driving under the influence and marked lanes. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober person.

Friday, April 15

Clay Township

Report 16-964-04: Police responded to Beachview Drive on the report of a dog running loose in the trailer park chasing kids. The dog was leashed and returned to its residence. A crate for the dog was found to be covered with feces and urine. The owner was not home. Police will contact the owner about the dog’s living conditions.

Sunday, April 17

Clay Township

Report 16-986-04: Chase T. Coy, 19, of Englewood, was charged with possession of marijuana, marked lanes, underage possession of alcohol, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a court summons and released to a family member.

Monday, April 18

City of Englewood

Report 16-022705: Brandon S. Weaver, 42, of Arcanum, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was issued a court summons and released.

Clay Township

Report 16-1004-04: Zachary S. Fellers, 22, of Portland, IN, was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and possession of heroin after found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle against a guardrail at Brookville-Salem Road and State Route 49. Fellers was transported to the Good Samaritan North Health Center Emergency Room for treatment. Upon arrival he broke free from the control of the medics and fled on foot.

Tuesday, April 19

City of Clayton

Report 16-812: Unknown subjects shot out the side rear window on a truck parked on Cotillion Court.

Report 16-813: Robbery was reported in the 6000 block of Garber Road. The victim reported an unknown black male between 20 and 30 years old, standing between 6-feet, 2-inches and 6-feet, 5-inches, wearing a black beanie hat, black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants jumped him and punched him about eight times, many of which were to the head and demanded he hand over his wallet. The suspect pulled off the victim’s pants, which contained his wallet and belt and fled in to woods on the opposite side of Garber. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan North Emergency Room for evaluation. A Sheriff’s K9 arrived but a track could not be established. Police found blood drops in the area where the assault took place.

City of Englewood

Report 16-022913: Bret A. Ginter, 33. Of Englewood, was arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County for a probation violation. Ginter was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-022927: Jennifer A. St’Amand, 28, of Dayton 45449, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. She was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-022935: A 17-year-old male was charged with theft at Meijer. Charges were forwarded to Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Report 16-022936: A 16-year-old male was charged with being unruly. Charges were forwarded to Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Clay Township

Report 16-1012-04: Zachary S. Fellers, 22, of Portland, IN, was arrested on a warrant issued by Randolph County, IN for dealing dangerous drugs. He was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Wednesday, April 20

City of Clayton

Report 16-815: A dog bite was reported on Takisa Circle.

City of Englewood

Report 16-023030: Courtland B. Monaghan, 25, of Englewood, was charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the county jail.

Report 16-023119: The theft of merchandise was reported at United Dairy Farmers.

Report 16-023139: Angela M. Woods, 45, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart and transported to the county jail.

Report 16-023291: The theft of a gym bag containing a can of beer, cigarettes, a cell phone and clothing was reported at Englewood Hill Elementary.

Thursday, April 21

City of Englewood

Report 16-023320: Shawnna L. Freeman, 22, of Trotwood, and Sabra M. Maston, 21, of Dayton 45416, were each charged with theft at Wal-Mart. Both were transported to the county jail.

City of Union

Report 16-23331: Assault and theft was reported in the first block of Greencliff Drive. Charges were sent to the prosecutor’s office for approval.

Friday, April 22

City of Englewood

Report 16-023513: Denise R. Arden, 32, of Dayton 45427, and Tammy L. Arden, 58, of Dayton 45417, were each charged with theft at Wal-Mart. Both were transported to the county jail.

Report 16-023558: David F. Phipps, 35, at large, was charged with theft at Thunderbowl. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

Report 16-023567: Duane E. Taylor, 42, of Englewood, was charged with animal restraint (barking dogs). Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

Sunday, April 24

City of Clayton

Report 16-843: Tiffany R. Johnson, 27, of Trotwood, was arrested on two active warrants and transported to the county jail.

Report 16-844: Roman M. Sims, 30, of Dayton 45417, was charged with domestic violence, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, possession of drugs, having weapons while under disability, and was arrested on two active warrants. He was transported to the county jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-023711: Unknown subject threw a rock and broke a second story bedroom window at the Chateau Apartments.

City of Union

Report 16-23933: John C. Mohler, 53, of Union, was charged with domestic violence and transported to the county jail.
