Police reports from Northmont area law enforcement agencies

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sunday, March 13

City of Union

Report 16-015134: Criminal damaging to a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of Barnside Drive. The case is under investigation.

Monday, March 14

City of Clayton

Report 16-557: John D. Messler, 75, of Clayton, was charged with domestic violence. Taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

City of Englewood

Report 16-015231: Police responded to the Hampton Inn & Suites which had received a phone call from a resident of Kettering about fraudulent charges on a credit card regarding a room rental. Police called the victims and asked if they were familiar with two subjects that had rented a room charged to their account. The victims recognized the male and identified him as a coworker that had been given the credit card to make a purchase at Menards and had probably copied the account information down. Douglas K. Vanderpool, 21, of Dayton 45415, was charged with misuse of a credit card. Jessica L. Cochran, 25, of Dayton 45417, was charged with defrauding a livery or hostel. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court which will issue a court summons to both Vanderpool and Cochran.

Report 16-015319: John B. Moorman, 39, of Celina, was charged with theft at Meijer. He fled the store with merchandise prior to police arrival. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

City of Union

Report 16-015273: Donnie L. Johnson, 29, of Dayton 45402, was arrested at P&G on three active warrants: one out of Kettering for failure to comply, one out of Trotwood for failure to appear and a second warrant out of Trotwood for criminal damaging. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Wednesday, March 16

City of Englewood

Report 16-015549: Criminal damaging to a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of Meadowrun. The victim stated that unknown subjects had placed nails in his left rear tire while parked in the lot of St. Paul Catholic Church. While inside he joked about a lady they allowed to cut in line to vote and he feels someone took him seriously and put the nail into the side wall of the tire.

Report 16-015779: Unknown subjects shattered the front passenger door window on a vehicle parked behind H&R Block in the Country Square Shopping Center on West National Road.

Thursday, March 17

City of Englewood

Report 16-015878: Elijah M. Taylor, 30, of Dayton 45417, was charged with domestic violence following an incident inside Meijer. Taylor was transported to the county jail.

City of Union

Report 16-016014: Police responded to CVS on the report of a fraudulent prescription. The person attempting to obtain the prescription, Elyssa M. Davis, 32, of Englewood, was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply with probation issued by Englewood Police. She was transported to the county jail.

Friday, March 18

City of Englewood

Report 16-016103: Police responded to Steak ‘N Shake on the report of an intoxicated driver in the drive thru lane. Karvon M. Sampson, 20, of Dayton 45417, was charged with driving under the influence, having an expired license and was arrested on a warrant issued by Moraine Police for failure to comply. He registered at .024 percent on a breath intoxilyzer test. Sampson was transported to the county jail. A passenger in the vehicle, Zariah L. Walker, 19, of Englewood, was charged with possession of marijuana. She was issued a court summons and released to her mother.

Report 16-016223: Nicole M. Niswonger, 39, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Walgreen’s and Kmart. She was transported to the county jail.

Report 16-016296: Anissa L. Stickler, 43, of Union, was charged with driving under the influence and marked lanes of travel. She was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

City of Union

Report 16-016259: Paul M. Fryman, 21, of Englewood, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He was issued a court summons and released.

Saturday, March 19

City of Englewood

Report 16-016435: A 15-year-old male was charged with domestic violence after choking his mother. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

Sunday, March 20

City of Clayton

Report 16-611: The theft of merchandise was reported at United Dairy Farmers. The suspects fled in the dark colored GMC Envoy. A license plate number was obtained and police identified the owner. Charges are pending.

City of Englewood

Report 16-016623: Unknown subjects broke the front passenger door window on a vehicle parked in the lot of Bolts Sports Café and removed a purse from the passenger seat. Contents of the purse included an Ohio driver’s license, $10 cash, and three credit cards (Capital One MasterCard, Wright-Patt CU Visa debit/ATM card, and a Best Buy credit card).

Tuesday, March 22

City of Clayton

Report 16-618: Bradley M. Wagner, 20, of Kettering, was charged with driving under a 12 point suspension. His vehicle was towed and Wagner was transported to the county jail. A passenger in the vehicle jumped out and fled on foot after police initiated a traffic stop. Other officers attempted to locate the passenger after he fled without success.
